Maldives to become haven for dissident writers but plagued by censorship

The following websites are censored in the Maldives. According to Haveeru daily  it is done by Telecom Authority of Maldives on the orders of Ministry of Islamic Affairs. 

If no pressure is given to the government and the Islamicists, this list will exponentially grow in the next few days.

A week earlier on 6th March 2009 Maryam Omidi reports on Minivan news: “President Mohamed Nasheed has said he intends to turn the Maldives into a sanctuary for opposition journalists from countries such as Burma.”
